Position Overview
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Transportation Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative teaching, impactful research, and engagement with students and industry partners.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil and transportation engineering.

Advise students and supervise research projects.

Develop an externally funded research program in areas such as intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations, data analytics, and resilient infrastructure.

Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (by start date).

At least one degree from an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program or equivalent teaching experience.

Demonstrated or potential ability to secure research funding.

Strong communication and teaching skills.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary: $92,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications.
