Position Summary
The Engineering Program at Loras College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, beginning August 2026.
This position is part of the Noonan School of Business, Engineering, and Innovation, and the successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic academic community that emphasizes excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
The new faculty member will teach undergraduate courses in electrical engineering, including controls, robotics, automation, and related areas of expertise. Additional responsibilities include teaching in the general education curriculum, academic advising, and potentially supervising undergraduate research projects.

Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (ABD candidates or those with equivalent experience may be considered).

Demonstrated excellence in teaching or potential for excellence in a liberal arts environment.

Evidence of effective communication skills and engagement with current developments in the field.

Commitment to student-centered learning, academic advising, and professional mentorship.

Alignment with the College’s mission and support for its Catholic liberal arts tradition.
Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with significant industry or teaching experience.

Experience or interest in interdisciplinary collaboration across engineering, data science, and mathematics.

Evidence of scholarly engagement following the Ernest Boyer Model of scholarship.
