Position Overview
Cuyahoga Community College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty – Massage Therapy at the Metropolitan Campus. This is a part-time, non-union faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate will teach a full range of lecture and lab courses in massage therapy theory, practice, and clinical application. The instructor will play a vital role in preparing students for success in both therapeutic and relaxation massage techniques while promoting professional conduct and hands-on skill development.
Key Responsibilities

Teach a variety of credit courses covering massage therapy theory, techniques, and clinical practice.

Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and learning activities aligned with course outcomes.

Develop course materials such as syllabi, assignments, and instructional handouts.

Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, lab performance, papers, and examinations.

Maintain accurate and timely student attendance, grades, and course records.

Provide academic support, feedback, and coaching to students.

Participate in periodic departmental meetings and professional development sessions.

Accompany students to off-site clinical or practicum activities when required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed massage therapist with both therapeutic and relaxation massage expertise.

Licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio (or eligible for licensure by start date).

Out-of-state candidates must have held licensure for at least 3 years, pass the MBLEx exam, and obtain Ohio licensure prior to starting.

Willingness and ability to receive student massages for assessment and evaluation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous college-level or adult education teaching experience.
Compensation
-
Pay Rate: $942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU).
Work Schedule

Schedule varies based on departmental needs.

Classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekends.

Residency Requirement
Hired faculty must reside within the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of the Metropolitan Campus from their employment start date and throughout their tenure, per policy 3354:1-40-01.2 Adjunct Faculty Hiring and Employment Procedure.
