Position Summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Faculty – Massage Therapy (Basic Science) at its Metropolitan Campus. This part-time role involves teaching lecture and laboratory courses in massage therapy basic sciences, assisting in continuing education development, and accompanying students to off-site clinical activities.

Candidates are interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.


Responsibilities

  • Teach a full range of lecture and lab credit courses in massage therapy basic sciences.

  • Develop and deliver instructional materials, including syllabi, assignments, and handouts.

  • Evaluate and grade students’ work, assignments, and exams.

  • Maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to students.

  • Attend periodic meetings with supervisors, division staff, or college representatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a health-related field with at least 8 semester (or 12 quarter) hours of Human Anatomy and Physiology courses with lab.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist.

  • Must hold a valid Ohio Massage Therapy License (or obtain one via the MBLEx exam if licensed out-of-state).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated sensitivity and responsiveness to community and student needs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience.

Compensation

  • Set rate: $942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU)


Additional Information

  • Work schedule determined by business unit needs; classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekends.

  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

  • Employees must reside in Ohio and be within commuting distance of the Metropolitan Campus throughout their employment.
