Position Summary

Marion Technical College seeks an Adjunct Massage Therapy Instructor to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction to students. The instructor will maintain accessibility for student conferences, manage attendance and academic performance records, and uphold college standards for excellence in education — all under the guidance of the department dean or designated representative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for approved courses using applied learning methods aligned with course objectives and institutional standards.

• Engage students through both lecture and hands-on laboratory learning in classroom and off-campus settings, including web-based and dual-enrollment environments.

• Prepare, update, and manage course materials, syllabi, and instructional technology.

• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and academic performance.

• Ensure safety practices are followed during lab sessions and while operating instructional equipment.

• Collaborate with colleagues and administration in implementing instructional procedures.

• Participate in orientation, training, and departmental meetings as needed.

• Respond promptly to student and staff inquiries while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and college privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Massage Therapist License (Required)

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred

• Prior teaching experience at a postsecondary institution preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related instructional technology

• Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision

• Must pass a background check before and during employment

• Valid driver’s license or dependable transportation required

ADA Specifications

This is a faculty position requiring teaching in diverse educational settings to provide quality instruction to a wide range of students. Courses may be conducted in classroom, lab, or office environments.
