Position Overview

Massasoit Community College is seeking qualified Adjunct Non-Credit EKG Technician Instructors to join its Continuing Education Division. These part-time positions are offered on an as-needed basis, contingent on course enrollment.

Instructors will provide high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction aligned with national EKG Technician certification standards, preparing students for real-world success in the healthcare field. Ideal candidates will demonstrate clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive teaching practices.


Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver instruction in:

    • Cardiovascular anatomy and physiology

    • EKG machine operation and lead placement

    • Patient preparation and safety procedures

    • Rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition

  • Incorporate real-world clinical scenarios into lessons to enhance student learning.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging lab environment in accordance with industry standards.

  • Reinforce HIPAA compliance and professional ethics throughout instruction.

  • Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and support academic and career development.

  • Respond promptly to student and college communications.

  • Ensure all class sessions meet scheduled times and duration requirements.

  • Maintain accurate attendance, participation, and grading records.

  • Submit required documentation, including grades and reports, by established deadlines.

  • Collaborate effectively with Continuing Education staff and attend instructor meetings and trainings as required.

  • Support the Commonwealth’s Equity Agenda by incorporating equitable practices in all instructional activities.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid EKG Technician Certification from a nationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience performing EKG procedures in an accredited healthcare setting.

  • Minimum two (2) years of instructional experience with adult learners from diverse backgrounds, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of EKG curriculum aligned with nationally recognized standards.

  • Familiarity with competency-based education principles and assessment methods.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and learning management systems.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in healthcare or allied health from an accredited institution.

  • Experience integrating technology and blended learning in classroom instruction.

  • Multilingual fluency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, French Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within community college education.


Position Details

  • Status: Part-time, non-benefitted (Adjunct, hired as needed)

  • Supervisor: Associate Dean, Continuing Education

  • Semesters: Spring and Summer 2026

  • Hours: Weekday evenings (5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) or weekends; up to 18 hours per week

  • Worksite: Brockton, Canton, or Middleborough campuses (in-person) or online/hybrid as needed

  • Compensation: $40.00 per hour
