Part-Time Staff Automotive Assistant assists with lab and tool room needs for students in the automotive technology lab. Must have flexible availability to work shifts scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., based on departmental needs.
Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications:
Positions in this class typically require feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.

Part-Time Staff Automotive Assistant assists with lab and tool room needs for students in the automotive technology lab. Must have flexible availability to work shifts scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., based on departmental needs.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the Automotive Lab by providing support to automotive technology instructor(s).
- Assist faculty and staff with the setup and maintenance of laboratory vehicles, components, and equipment in labs as needed.
- Provide assistance to students using specialized automotive diagnostic computer software applications.
- Assist supervisor in all areas related to the operation of the automotive labs including safety procedures.
- Assist with minor repairs on laboratory equipment and coordinate equipment repair and supply orders.
- Work with the instructional office in support of the campus inventory process.
- Oversee the process of checking out tools, parts, supplies, and equipment to lab students.
- Check in customer vehicles, write repair orders and collect payment for completed customer repairs.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR G.E.D.
- One (1) year relevant work experience
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
