Description

The Adjunct Faculty – Medical Assistant will work closely with the Program Coordinator to teach courses in the Medical Assisting (MAS) program.

Examples of Duties

• Demonstrate teaching skills by selecting and implementing effective instructional strategies.

• Assess student achievement of the learning objectives of the program.

• Meet with courses and laboratories at scheduled times.

• Instruct, advise, consult with, and evaluate the performance of enrolled students.

• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, bibliographies, assignments, tests, and other course materials.

• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

Typical Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

• Must be credentialed in Medical Assisting by a credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

• Minimum of three years of healthcare experience.

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three to five years of college-level teaching experience in an accredited MAS program.

• Experience in developing didactic and clinical outcomes/curricula at both program and course levels.

• Excellent technology and classroom management skills.

Status and Salary

This is a regular adjunct faculty position. Salary will be determined according to the adjunct faculty union contract.
