Description
The Adjunct Faculty – Medical Assistant will work closely with the Program Coordinator to teach courses in the Medical Assisting (MAS) program.
Examples of Duties
-
Demonstrate teaching skills by selecting and implementing effective instructional strategies.

Assess student achievement of the learning objectives of the program.

Meet with courses and laboratories at scheduled times.

Instruct, advise, consult with, and evaluate the performance of enrolled students.

Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, bibliographies, assignments, tests, and other course materials.

Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
Typical Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

Must be credentialed in Medical Assisting by a credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Minimum of three years of healthcare experience.

Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Three to five years of college-level teaching experience in an accredited MAS program.

Experience in developing didactic and clinical outcomes/curricula at both program and course levels.

Excellent technology and classroom management skills.
Status and Salary
This is a regular adjunct faculty position. Salary will be determined according to the adjunct faculty union contract.
