Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Health Professions, the Paramedic Lab Assistant supports the Paramedic Program by assisting with laboratory preparation and clean-up, providing instructional assistance, and supporting students during clinical and lab experiences. This position requires professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work with students in a clinical and academic setting.
Essential Job Duties

Assist with preparation and clean-up of laboratory sessions.

Support students in the assigned clinical site and/or campus lab.

Oversee clinical experiences for students enrolled in the Paramedic Program, traveling to clinical sites two to three days per week as needed.

Adhere to applicable accreditation standards, college policies, and program curricula.

Deliver safe, competent, and consistent instruction to students.

Assist in evaluating student performance according to established standards and criteria.

Maintain communication with the Program Director and instructors at Northeast State Community College.

Provide appropriate supervision to students during clinical rotations.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Current Tennessee Paramedic License in good standing (no history of revocation, denial, or suspension).

At least two (2) years of experience providing advanced life support in a prehospital or emergency department setting.

Current endorsements in trauma, cardiac, and pediatric care courses.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or higher in a related field from an accredited institution.

One or more years of teaching or instructional experience.
-
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, digital record management systems, and general operating systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse socioeconomic populations, including students, families, staff, and public officials.
