Overview

Ohio University Regional Higher Education (Lancaster Campus) and the College of Health Sciences and Professions invite applications for the Director of Clinical Education, Respiratory Therapy position. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of the Respiratory Therapy program.

The successful candidate will coordinate clinical education, provide classroom and clinical instruction, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all clinical activities with the Director of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Provide clinical and didactic instruction to students.

  • Supervise students during clinical rotations.

  • Develop clinical schedules, syllabi, and orientation materials.

  • Evaluate and mentor clinical instructors and preceptors.

  • Maintain all required clinical documentation (immunizations, background checks, certifications, etc.).

  • Ensure compliance with CoARC accreditation standards.

  • Manage and maintain clinical site agreements.

  • Pursue professional development to maintain expertise.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.

  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a CoARC-accredited program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor.

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

  • Current unencumbered state license to practice.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.

  • Pay Rate: Commensurate with credentials and experience.
