Position Overview

This faculty position provides lecture and clinical instruction in Health Sciences and Clinical Lab Sciences courses.
It is a full-time (FAC) position under an annual contract issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees for the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate teaching and learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments.

  • Evaluate students and provide academic and career advising.

  • Plan and organize instructional materials to meet course objectives.

  • Participate in curriculum development and revision, emphasizing innovation and multicultural perspectives.

  • Engage in departmental recruitment and retention activities.

  • Serve on committees as assigned.

  • Prepare and submit student data to the Department Chairperson.

  • Teach day, evening, and weekend classes as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field and Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.

  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential.

  • Valid State of Florida Respiratory Therapist license.

  • Three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in the field.

  • All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.

  • Strong technology skills in instructional tools and student-centered learning methods.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

  • Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites, and off-campus locations.

  • Start Date: On or before the Spring Semester 2026.

  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base pay, if applicable.


Preferences

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in the field.
