Position Overview

Athens Technical College seeks a qualified Surgical Technology Program Chair to oversee program development, administration, and evaluation. The position involves managing curriculum design, faculty development, student advising, accreditation maintenance, and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evaluate the Surgical Technology program.

• Oversee curriculum development and implementation.

• Manage student recruitment and enrollment.

• Assess and improve student learning outcomes.

• Advise and mentor students.

• Supervise and develop faculty.

• Manage program budgets and resources.

• Maintain program accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

• Credentialed in Surgical Technology (NCCA-accredited).

• At least five (5) years of experience as a surgical technologist or instructor (or combination) within the past ten (10) years.

• Experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.

• Postsecondary teaching experience.
