Position Overview

The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) is seeking Collaborating Professors in the fields of Computing, Multimedia, and Telecommunications. These professionals will contribute to the university’s mission of providing high-quality online education by guiding students, supporting learning, and promoting academic excellence in a digital environment.

Collaboration with the UOC is based on the provision of professional services, with each candidate evaluated comprehensively according to their academic background, teaching and/or professional experience, and relevant competencies aligned with the subject area.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching activities in computing, multimedia, or telecommunications.

• Guide students through interactive online learning environments.

• Contribute to course content delivery, assessment, and mentoring.

• Participate in academic coordination and student support as required.

• Maintain a professional online presence and ensure high-quality educational engagement.

Required Qualifications

• A university degree in a field related to computing, multimedia, or telecommunications.

• Teaching and/or professional experience in the last three years relevant to the subject area.

• Excellent command of the language in which the courses will be taught.

• A separate main line of work (employed or self-employed) — a mandatory requirement for all UOC course instructors/tutors.

• Proficiency in office software and internet-based tools at a user level.

Preferred Qualifications

• A personal profile suited for online teaching and digital student engagement.

• Experience in coordinating or organizing groups (online or in-person).

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated initiative, organizational ability, and a collaborative mindset.
