Adjunct Welding and Fabrication Instructor

Job Summary:

The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering hands-on instruction relative to welding and fabrication industry standards. Responsibilities include teaching safety, welding theory & techniques, evaluating student performance, and maintaining a safe, engaging lab environment.

Class times may include Saturdays and/or evenings at CLC's Advanced Technology Center.

Job Description:

  • Teach courses in welding and fabrication using student-centered, inclusive methods.

  • Meet all scheduled classes and notify supervisors in case of absence.

  • Develop, revise, and maintain course materials and syllabi aligned with departmental outcomes.

  • Assess and evaluate student performance through projects, exams, and assignments.

  • Support student retention and success by providing feedback and referrals to college services.

  • Communicate effectively with students through phone or email.

  • Use College-approved systems to share course objectives, policies, and evaluation criteria.

  • Incorporate instructional technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Encourage student course evaluations and improve teaching effectiveness.

  • Maintain accurate records for grading, attendance, and documentation.

  • Submit grades and reports by established deadlines.

  • Uphold academic integrity and handle violations per college policy.

  • Participate in meetings, advisory boards, and committees as needed.

  • Attend required Adjunct meetings and complete all mandatory compliance trainings (e.g., Title IX, Clery Act).

  • Engage in professional development to stay current in teaching and welding.

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and assessment improvements.

  • Maintain a safe, organized lab/classroom by following safety protocols.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean.


Requirements (Welding Fabrication Technology – WFT EGRDV):

  • Associate’s degree and AWS certification with 10,000+ hours of welding experience;
    OR

  • A.A.S. in Welding and AWS certification with 6,000+ hours of welding experience;
    OR

  • High School diploma, AWS certification, and 14,000+ hours of welding experience.


Compensation:

Per Load Hour Compensation Schedule

  • 2025–2026: $1,373

  • 2026–2027: $1,414
