Position Summary:
Provide instruction to students in the Welding and Fabrication programs.

Position Start Date: January 2026
Essential Duties:
-
Deliver career-oriented instruction to enhance student welding and fabrication skills.
-
Provide outreach to high school instructors and students.
-
Use effective lesson planning and teaching strategies for high-quality instruction.
-
Maintain instructional records as required.
-
Collaborate on curriculum development, including the use of multimedia for online and blended learning.
-
Participate in student/program assessments, meetings, and college initiatives.
-
Stay current with industry practices and trends.
-
Attend professional development workshops and trainings.
-
Support a collaborative, innovative learning environment for faculty and students.
-
Maintain professional ethics and student confidentiality.
-
Serve on college committees and engage in community-related activities.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Trades and Industrial Arts.
Minimum Qualifications (Per Montana Board of Regents Policy 730):
-
Three (3) years of experience in the welding or fabrication occupation, OR
-
An equivalent combination of postsecondary education and industry experience in the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Associate degree in a career/technical discipline
-
Bachelorβs degree
-
Professional certifications in Welding, Fabrication, or Inspection
-
Teaching experience in higher education or secondary settings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Ability to teach effectively using multiple instructional methods
-
Understanding of college policies and procedures
-
Willingness to represent FVCC positively within the community

Strong communication, technology, and interpersonal skills

Experience working with diverse backgrounds

Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends as needed)

Confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability

Capability to lift or move objects (20β50 lbs occasionally) per Medium Duty standards
