Job Overview

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Machine/Welding Shop Instructors to join our part-time teaching pool.
Instructors in this role may teach both day and evening lab sections, providing students with hands-on training in machining, welding, and CNC machining.

This posting is part of a general applicant pool for adjunct positions, filled as needed based on departmental requirements. Appointments are renewed depending on performance and enrollment demand.

Essential Functions

• Supervise and instruct students in the Machine Shop and Welding Shop, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

• Assist students with machining, welding, and CNC machining projects.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety procedures and compliance with manufacturing standards.

• Support student learning through hands-on guidance, demonstrations, and project-based assignments.

• Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instructional quality and shop efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) or an equivalent technical degree; OR
  at least 10 years of machining experience.

• Proficiency in Machining and Welding.

• Knowledge of CNC machining processes.

• Prior experience supervising or mentoring students or apprentices.

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols and best practices.
