Job Overview
The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Machine/Welding Shop Instructors to join our part-time teaching pool.
Instructors in this role may teach both day and evening lab sections, providing students with hands-on training in machining, welding, and CNC machining.
This posting is part of a general applicant pool for adjunct positions, filled as needed based on departmental requirements. Appointments are renewed depending on performance and enrollment demand.
Essential Functions

Supervise and instruct students in the Machine Shop and Welding Shop, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Assist students with machining, welding, and CNC machining projects.

Maintain a strong focus on safety procedures and compliance with manufacturing standards.

Support student learning through hands-on guidance, demonstrations, and project-based assignments.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instructional quality and shop efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) or an equivalent technical degree; OR
at least 10 years of machining experience. -
Proficiency in Machining and Welding.

Knowledge of CNC machining processes.

Prior experience supervising or mentoring students or apprentices.

Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols and best practices.
