Position Summary

The Snell Laboratory at the University at Buffalo seeks a Postdoctoral Associate for an initial two-year appointment, with potential extension based on funding. The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on protein-level structural responses to low-dose radiation.

This position is ideal for a motivated researcher with a strong background in molecular biology and a keen interest in structural biology. The Snell Lab works closely with AI and classical machine learning experts, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates eager to explore computational applications in structural biology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clone, express, and purify target proteins and complexes.

  • Perform crystallization screening and related structural studies.

  • Analyze data using X-ray crystallography, neutron crystallography, and X-ray spectroscopy.

  • Collaborate on projects involving AI and machine learning applications in structural biology.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, or a closely related field.

  • All degree requirements (including dissertation) must be completed at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or strong interest in AI, computational modeling, and machine learning tools for biological applications.


Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
