Position Summary
The Misra Laboratory at Stony Brook University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to join our NIH-funded research group. The lab focuses on growth regulation by Hippo signaling in Drosophila development and cancer, using developmental genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry. Substantial training in experimental techniques will be provided.
The Postdoctoral Associate will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Jyoti Misra.
Required Qualifications:

PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field.

Strong skills in Molecular Biology (PCR, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, RT-PCR).

Experience with Immunoprecipitation and Western Blotting.

High proficiency in scientific writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with mammalian cell culture.

Experience in expression (E. coli, yeast, mammalian cells) and protein purification.

Experience with Drosophila genetics, dissection, immunostaining, and confocal microscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Maintain Drosophila stocks, perform genetic crosses, dissections, and confocal imaging.

Prepare proteins, RNA, DNA, perform molecular cloning, and purify recombinant proteins.

Conduct biochemical analyses including kinase assays and Western blotting.

Analyze data, contribute to manuscript writing, and assist with grant proposals.

Train new lab personnel and perform other assigned duties.
