Position Summary

Rutgers University is seeking an entry-level Postdoctoral Researcher for an NIH-funded laboratory studying human reproduction using mouse models. The research combines genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and microscopy. The position involves independent lab work, training undergraduate and student workers, and managing routine lab operations. Candidates will perform experiments, data analysis, presentations, and manuscript preparation.


Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Life Sciences.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience.

  • Strong skills in communication, computer literacy, and independent research.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-resolution imaging and molecular biology techniques.

  • Familiarity with laboratory and analytical software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Prism, and ImageJ.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct genetic, cell, and molecular biology experiments.

  • Perform mouse handling, oocyte manipulation, and genetic analyses.

  • Train and supervise undergraduate research assistants.

  • Maintain detailed lab notebooks and oversee research protocols.

  • Present research findings, prepare figures, and draft manuscripts.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and occasionally carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Exposure to laboratory chemicals and malodorous vapors.
