Position Overview
The College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to providing high-quality undergraduate education and hands-on research experiences.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Teach introductory-level biology courses for majors and non-majors.

Offer upper-level courses in area(s) of expertise that complement departmental offerings.

Maintain a full-time teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year.

Develop an undergraduate research program that enhances departmental strengths.

Engage in academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and university service.

Contribute to interdisciplinary general education programs through collaborative teaching and course design.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field (ABD candidates considered).

College-level teaching experience strongly preferred.

Commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and active scholarship.

Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
