Position Overview

The successful candidate will perform teaching, scholarship/research, and service duties in accordance with NSU’s Faculty Policy Manual.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach microbiology, general biology, and other upper-level biology courses in multiple formats (in-person, hybrid, and online).

• Contribute to curriculum and program development within the department.

• Maintain regular office hours for student advising, mentorship, and consultation.

• Conduct research and scholarly activities in the biological sciences.

• Actively participate in college and university committees.

• Support university events such as orientations, commencements, and community engagement activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department chair.

Qualifications

Required

• Doctoral Degree in Biology or a closely related field.

• Ability to teach microbiology effectively.

• Proficiency in computer hardware and curriculum-related software.

• Experience or interest in developing online courses.

Preferred

• Prior college-level teaching experience.
