Position Summary
The Adjunct Instructor – Chemistry is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction across a range of course delivery methods — including on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced formats. The instructor will foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success and upholds the academic standards of the institution.
Essential Job Functions

Teach assigned Chemistry courses using approved syllabi and instructional materials.

Collaborate with course leads or program coordinators to ensure consistency in student learning experiences.

Use the college’s Learning Management System (LMS) to post course materials and track student progress.

Maintain timely communication — respond to emails/messages within 48 hours (except weekends).

Complete and submit required documentation, including attendance reports, early alerts, grade submissions, and student assessments.

Meet all college and Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) policies, guidelines, and deadlines.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry, or
-
Master’s degree in another field with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry
Preferred Qualifications

Prior college-level teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience with online and hybrid teaching methods (synchronous/asynchronous).

Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse student and faculty populations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.
Compensation
Rate of Pay: $650 – $740 per credit hour
