Position Overview

UMGC seeks adjunct faculty to teach remotely in the Cybersecurity Management and Policy Program. Ideal candidates are scholar-practitioners—professionals actively engaged in the cybersecurity field—who are passionate about teaching adult learners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage students with enthusiasm and frequent interaction.

  • Guide students in problem- and project-based learning.

  • Provide constructive feedback using rubrics and acknowledge student accomplishments.

  • Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise and connect concepts across courses.

  • Offer feedback to program leadership on potential curriculum improvements.

  • Successfully complete two-week online faculty orientation (FacDev 411) as a condition of hire.


Required Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field from an accredited institution.

  • Professional experience in cybersecurity or a related field.

  • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is preferred.


Preferred Certifications

  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, IPP, CRISC, CCISO
