Course Overview
The User Interface Implementation (661) course explores the development of user interfaces across mobile, desktop, and web platforms. Students gain hands-on experience in cross-platform UI development, accessibility compliance, usability testing, AI-assisted design, and professional project documentation. Faculty guide graduate-level students in designing real-world applications while applying modern development frameworks.
Required Education & Experience

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proficiency in cross-platform frameworks such as React, Flutter, React Native, or Electron.

Experience applying accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and implementing robust software testing and QA practices.

Knowledge of usability testing, user research, and design documentation (personas, wireframes, VPAT reports).

Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Figma AI, Copilot) and asynchronous collaborative workflows.

Industry experience in UI design, accessibility engineering, or full-stack development is desirable.

Experience teaching adult learners online strongly preferred.
Adjunct Faculty Responsibilities

Actively engage students in interactive and project-based learning.

Guide graduate-level projects emphasizing real-world application, teamwork, and documentation.

Provide constructive feedback and assess student work using rubrics.

Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise in UI implementation.

Provide curricular feedback to program chairs.

Salary & Hiring Range

Instructor: $806 – $1,050 per credit hour

Adjunct Professor with Terminal Degree: $1,347 – $1,645 per credit hour
