Position Overview

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at UTA invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position, with consideration for Associate Professor based on experience and credentials. Ideal applicants will demonstrate expertise in Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence, and Intelligent Systems related to:

• Urban air mobility

• Smart aviation

• Electric flight

• Human-centric robotics

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a significant, externally funded research program

• Produce peer-reviewed publications

• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses

• Participate in departmental and university service

• Demonstrate leadership within professional and technical societies

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline (must be completed before start date)

• Postdoctoral or industry research experience is desirable

Research and Infrastructure
