Position Overview
The Center for Data Science for Enterprise & Society at Cornell University, in collaboration with the Engineering Innovations in Medicine (EIM) initiative and the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering, is recruiting Maxwell Postdoctoral Fellows. These positions were created with the support of alumnus Dev Joneja (PhD '89).
The role aims to foster interdisciplinary research integrating data science, AI, statistics, operations research, and health sciences, potentially across:

Fellows will work on cutting-edge projects that apply data-driven methodologies to challenges in medicine, biotechnology, biomedical data processing, decision-making systems, and computational health research.
Program Goals

Advance biological discovery and development of diagnostic and therapeutic tools

Innovate medical data acquisition, computation, and utilization

Develop and deploy AI and data science methods in biomedical settings
A sample interdisciplinary project may involve using AI to develop personalized cancer treatment strategies by combining lab experimentation with genomic data and historical research insights.

A two-page proposal detailing the research to be conducted at Cornell and identifying two Cornell faculty mentors (one from a biomedical/health domain and one from core data science)
