Position Overview

The Department of Geographic & Environmental Sciences is seeking part-time lecturers to teach undergraduate courses for one semester, with possible renewal based on departmental needs.

Courses may be offered in-person or via distance education and include:

  • Human Geography

  • Physical Geography

  • Environmental Sciences

  • Mapping and Geospatial Technologies

  • Introduction to GIS

  • Advanced GIS

  • Meteorology

  • Web Mapping

  • Related fields

Preference will be given to candidates holding an M.S. degree at the time of appointment.


Responsibilities

Part-time lecturers are expected to:

  • Use Blackboard for course management (syllabus submission, materials, grades).

  • Order textbooks or relevant course materials.

  • Provide developmentally meaningful feedback.

  • Deliver engaging and interactive learning experiences.

  • Respond to students in a timely manner.

  • Maintain communication with the academic program director.

  • Submit final grades before university deadlines.

  • Complete required documents, such as attestation disclosure forms and annual evaluations.
