Position Overview

Lone Star College-Magnolia Center seeks Adjunct Faculty in Geology to provide high-quality instruction in Earth Sciences. This part-time position focuses on planning, developing, and teaching courses that engage students and support academic success in line with LSC’s mission to foster lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Geology courses across various times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend classes.

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote student involvement and learning.

• Advise students and evaluate their progress toward course objectives.

• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

• Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations.

• Perform other duties reasonably related to instruction as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field, or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in Geology/Earth Sciences.

• Strong content mastery and subject-matter expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or assisting undergraduate courses.

• Theoretical expertise in one or more Geoscience disciplines.

Employment Details

• Part-time, semester-by-semester appointment contingent on student demand.

• Maximum teaching load: five classes per academic year.

• Classes held in-person at LSC-Magnolia Center.
