Job Summary

The University of Colorado Law School’s William A. Wise Law Library seeks a Collection Services and Research Librarian. This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position at the Teaching Faculty (non-tenure track) level, reporting to the Associate Director of Resource Access and Discovery.

The position focuses on coordinating collection development, teaching in the J.D. curriculum, and providing research assistance as part of the Reference Team. This role requires a professional committed to innovation, academic excellence, and the effective management of law library resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of collection development, including strategic planning and budget analysis.

  • Align library resources and formats with the research needs of the CU Law community.

  • Teach at least one course annually within the J.D. curriculum.

  • Provide specialized research assistance and instruction to faculty, students, staff, and public users.

  • Participate in Law Library, College, and University committees.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to relevant library organizations.

  • Perform additional duties and contribute to special projects as assigned.


Additional Information

  • Hybrid work option may be available (2–3 remote days per week), subject to departmental needs.

  • Onboarding assistance is available in accordance with School of Law guidelines.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $90,000–$110,000 annually.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited institution.

  • Minimum two years of law library experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience.

  • Experience or interest in foreign, comparative, and international law research.

  • Experience or interest in American Indian and Indigenous Law.
