Position Summary

Monmouth University seeks a part-time Adjunct Librarian to provide general reference services to students and faculty. The position is on-campus and in-person, with required weekend and weekday shifts. The librarian will assist faculty, students, and staff with research, support library projects, and contribute to maintaining instructional materials.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality reference services in-person, by phone, and via email

• Assist faculty, students, and administrators with research requests

• Support scholarship, classroom preparation, and professional development

• Maintain and edit training materials for library staff and students

• Participate in library special projects and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA-accredited MLS required)

• Expertise in reference services

• Experience using print and electronic resources, including online catalogs and databases

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic library reference experience

Additional Information

• Part-time librarians must work at least one 5-hour weekend shift and one 3-hour weekday/weeknight shift per week, with the option to request additional hours
