Position Overview
The Adjunct Faculty Librarian promotes the library as an integral part of campus through instruction, outreach, and collaboration. The role emphasizes information literacy, library services, and stakeholder engagement and requires collaboration with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities

Design and teach information literacy curricula across multiple delivery modes (online, hybrid, classroom, one-on-one)

Collaborate with faculty to integrate library instruction into courses

Serve as liaison to academic departments, attend meetings, and provide presentations

Conduct orientations, tours, and presentations for students, staff, faculty, and visitors

Provide high-quality reference services in person, by phone, and email

Support collection development and library technology needs

Promote Open Educational Resources (OER) and copyright compliance

Create and update instructional materials, research guides, and the library website

Develop tutorials, videos, screencasts, instructional modules, and databases

Collaborate with eLearning staff to embed digital literacy in online courses

Manage projects, reports, and technical library infrastructure
Required Qualifications
-
MLS (Master of Library Science) from an ALA-accredited program

Recent teaching experience in information literacy

Experience with integrated library systems, cataloging, circulation, and instructional technology

Excellent oral and written communication and teaching skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years library experience, preferably in a community or technical college

Experience with OER and electronic resource management (Alma, Primo)

Knowledge of MARC/non-MARC metadata, database management, and cloud-based tools

Project management experience
Compensation & Conditions

Salary based on per-credit rate and faculty step level

Flexible hours within library schedule
