Position Highlights

The Department of Mathematics at The University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analysis, broadly construed. Appointment is subject to administrative approval and availability of funding.

The School of Mathematical Sciences includes:

  • The Department of Mathematics (primary faculty appointments)

  • Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs (GIDPs) in Statistics & Data Science and in Applied Mathematics

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including core PhD-level courses.

  • Mentor and advise students, supporting academic progress and research development.

  • Maintain a productive research program, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and seek external funding.

  • Contribute through departmental, college, university, and community service.

  • Support collaborative research and innovative student engagement initiatives.

Typical teaching load for research-active faculty:
9 units per academic year (approximately three semester courses).


Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Mathematics or a closely related area at the time of appointment

  • Strong research record and potential consistent with career stage

  • Demonstrated excellence and commitment to teaching and outreach
