Northeastern University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in neuromotor systems and rehabilitation robotics. The position offers an opportunity to advance research at the intersection of sensorimotor neuroscience, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and robotics, with direct applications to human health and performance.

The postdoc will join a collaborative team led by Dr. C.J. Hasson (Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences) and Dr. Peter Whitney (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering), both core members of the Institute for Experiential Robotics. The fellow will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Prof. Robert Riener at ETH Zรผrich, a global leader in rehabilitation robotics.

Responsibilities include leading human subjects research, managing recruitment, experimental data collection, and analysis; developing computational models and algorithms for robotic augmentation studies; preparing manuscripts and conference presentations; mentoring graduate and undergraduate students; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams; and contributing to grant writing and lab management.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical or mechanical engineering, kinesiology, robotics, rehabilitation science, or a related field; prior human subjects research experience; strong skills in signal processing and human movement/physiological data analysis; programming proficiency in MATLAB and C++; and a record of scientific publications.

Preferred qualifications include expertise in computational modeling of movement or motor control, Linux environments, student mentoring, grant proposal contributions, and some fabrication skills (e.g., 3D printing).
