Position Overview
The Department of Mathematics and Systems Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. This is a three-year, 9-month contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
The department seeks candidates who:

Have an outstanding record and strong interest in teaching a diverse student body.

Are capable of designing curriculum and instruction for mathematics courses.

Can clearly communicate in the classroom with an understanding of curricular objectives and student needs.
Teaching load: Up to four undergraduate courses per semester.
Experience with teaching innovation tools is a plus.
Responsibilities

Teach up to four undergraduate courses per semester using modern instructional techniques.

Integrate technology (interactive software, digital resources) to enhance learning and promote active participation.

Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical exploration.

Mentor and advise students to help achieve their academic and career goals.
Qualifications
-
Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field.

Demonstrated expertise in teaching Calculus to undergraduate students in engineering and science majors.

Proficiency with technology, including interactive whiteboards, graphing calculators, mathematical software (e.g., MATLAB, Python), and online learning platforms.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students from diverse backgrounds.

Commitment to innovative teaching methods and enhancing student engagement.
