Position Summary
Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Nuclear/Hadronic Physics
The Nuclear Theory Group in the Department of Physics at Indiana University Bloomington (IU) invites applications for a postdoctoral research position under the supervision of Dr. Sebastian Dawid.

Start Date: As early as August 1, 2026 (flexible)

Initial Term: Two years, with possible extension to a third year based on performance and funding
The IU Nuclear Theory Group comprises four faculty members, several postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students. Research areas include:

Hadronic amplitude analysis and scattering theory
-
Heavy-ion collisions and properties of hot QCD matter

Hadronic probes of beyond-the-Standard-Model physics
-
Formal developments in lattice QCD
Basic Qualifications
-
Ph.D. in theoretical high-energy or nuclear physics required by the time of appointment

Research experience in one or more relevant areas is preferred:
-
Lattice QCD
-
Effective field theory
-
Hadronic/nuclear scattering

Responsibilities
-
Conduct high-quality research in theoretical nuclear and hadronic physics

Collaborate with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students

Present results at conferences and contribute to publications
