Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate – Experimental 2D Material Physics
Type: Full-Time, Research
Location: University of Arizona, Main Campus, Tucson, AZ
Salary: NIH guidelines; depends on experience

Position Overview

  • Conduct independent research in 2D material physics.

  • Opportunities to collaborate with faculty, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and participate in public engagement.

  • Year-to-year appointment expected to renew through 2028, contingent on funding and performance.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field by the time of hire.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics.

  • Research experience in:

    • 2D material device fabrication

    • Electron beam lithography nanofabrication

    • Low-temperature magneto-transport

    • Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM)

    • Scanning near-field optical microscopy

    • Low-temperature optical microscopy


Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop independent research projects.

  • Disseminate results via publications and presentations.

  • Collaborate with faculty and scholars; mentor students.

  • Organize collaborative meetings, workshops, and visitor programs.
