Position Overview
COD is seeking equity-minded adjunct faculty to teach in-person business statistics courses. The role supports the College’s mission to advance student education and embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities:

Deliver instruction consistent with official course outlines

Develop and distribute syllabi with objectives, grading criteria, and policies
-
Provide timely feedback on student work and grades
-
Refer students to tutoring and support services when needed
-
Maintain classroom and equipment safety
-
Participate in optional activities such as curriculum development, office hours, dual-enrollment programs, advisory committees, and professional development
Work Locations:
-
Palm Desert Campus or other COD sites (Indio, Mecca/Thermal, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs)

Classes may be scheduled during day, evening, or weekends

Some classes may be offered at participating local high schools (dual-enrollment)
Minimum Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Management, Accountancy, Finance, Marketing, or Business Education, OR a Bachelor’s degree in one of these areas with a Master’s in Economics, Public Administration, Personnel Management, or a Juris Doctor (JD/LL.B.)

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Equivalency & Foreign Degrees:

Candidates not meeting minimum qualifications may submit an Equivalency Request Form

Degrees earned outside the U.S. require a Foreign Equivalency Evaluation

Salary: Determined by CODAA Collective Bargaining Agreement and rank/experience

Primary Teaching Modality: In-person

Applicants must reside in California and be authorized to work in the U.S. COD does not sponsor employment visas
