About the Institute

The Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health (CBH) is a collaborative, interdisciplinary research hub spanning psychology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, health sciences, music, and the arts. CBH is home to the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC), equipped with a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI and advanced neuroimaging tools.

The institute investigates factors influencing brain health and cognitive function across the lifespan, including physical activity, nutrition, cognitive training, and artistic engagement.


Position Overview

The College of Science seeks an Associate or Full Professor to serve as Director of NUBIC and a senior faculty member in CBH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of NUBIC, including MRI operations and staff supervision

  • Conduct a well-funded, independent research program in human MRI/fMRI research

  • Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, and engineering

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses

  • Mentor students and postdoctoral researchers

  • Promote a vibrant user-base for functional, diffusion, spectroscopy, and structural MRI research


Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. (or M.D.) in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, physics, medical physics, or related field

  • Established, internationally recognized research program with strong publication record

  • Leadership experience in managing scientific teams and facilities

Preferred:

  • Experience fostering interdisciplinary collaborations

  • Expertise in human MRI/fMRI research and training
