Overview

The College of Chiropractic Education seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Doctor of Chiropractic students in online, hybrid, or onsite settings. Faculty will design and deliver courses, mentor students, and support academic excellence while participating in departmental activities and service opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Instruction: Teach courses in alignment with course objectives and curricula.

  • Assessment & Evaluation: Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and submit grades timely.

  • Academic Support: Provide counseling and remedial instruction as needed.

  • Course Development: Update course outlines, materials, and syllabi in collaboration with department faculty.

  • Teaching Strategies: Employ active learning, lecture, lab, and self-paced instruction methods.

  • Faculty Collaboration: Participate in meetings, departmental activities, and scholarly projects.

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure teaching practices align with university policies and SCU Core Values.

  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal Doctorate degree required (Doctor of Chiropractic for clinical courses).

  • Must be licensure-eligible in Arizona and hold an Arizona DC license for clinical/therapeutic courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience in an accredited higher education institution.

  • Demonstrated scholarly production or research activity.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams, manage multiple tasks, and respond under pressure.

  • Knowledge of digital teaching platforms (Canvas, ExamSoft) and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, use hands, and occasionally stand, walk, lift, or move up to 100 pounds.

  • Work environment may include exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, outdoor conditions, and moderate to loud noise.
