Position Overview

The Academic Program Coordinator (APC) is a faculty role with administrative responsibilities in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at the Phoenix Metro site. This role combines teaching (2/3) and program coordination (1/3) to support students, faculty, and operational excellence.

The APC ensures:

  • High-quality, evidence-based curriculum delivery.

  • Compliance with accreditation standards.

  • Positive student experiences, retention, and successful licensure.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Program Support:

  • Manage and support all onsite courses at the Phoenix Metro site.

  • Collaborate with ED and Assistant/Associate Program Directors (APDs) to ensure program quality and accreditation compliance.

  • Serve as the primary contact for student academic and support needs.

  • Participate in university and program committees.

Accreditation & Compliance:

  • Support preparation and submission of program reports, self-assessments, and quality assurance documentation.

  • Ensure adherence to accrediting bodies and regulatory standards.

Faculty Support & Development:

  • Assist ED in recruiting, retaining, and mentoring adjunct faculty.

  • Provide input on faculty evaluations and professional development initiatives.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and academic excellence.

Student Support & Engagement:

  • Advise and mentor students, ensuring access to appropriate resources.

  • Encourage participation in co-curricular and professional activities.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Community & Professional Outreach:

  • Represent the program at conferences, meetings, and events.

  • Develop partnerships with local, national, and international healthcare and chiropractic organizations.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Monitor learning equipment and instructional resources.

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and program sustainability.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and evaluate student performance in courses.

  • Update course materials, syllabi, and teaching strategies based on assessment results.

  • Document instructional changes and student outcomes.

  • Participate in faculty performance appraisals and academic committees.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of chiropractic practice experience.

  • Arizona chiropractic license (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

  • High proficiency in written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education or health sciences.

  • Prior program leadership experience (e.g., department chair).

  • Experience with regional and programmatic accreditation.

  • Track record of scholarly production.
