Position Overview

UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral Health Sciences, seeks a full-time Pediatric Dentistry faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching (higher rank considered based on qualifications). The position focuses on teaching excellence, curriculum development, and contributing to both the university and community service.

The role involves teaching in pre- and post-doctoral programs, emphasizing the DMD curriculum in pediatric dentistry, while fostering collaboration with other faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach pediatric dentistry in pre- and post-doctoral DMD programs.

• Contribute to curriculum development and educational leadership.

• Collaborate with faculty and staff across the Department and University.

• Provide service to the Faculty, University, and broader community.

• Maintain collegial, respectful, and collaborative interactions with students and colleagues.

Qualifications

Required:

• Postgraduate training in Pediatric Dentistry.

• Licensed (or eligible) with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP) as a Pediatric Dentistry specialist, or eligible for specialty licensure via a North American accredited program or Canadian Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program.

• Demonstrated teaching excellence and strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

• Contributions that enhance existing educational programs at UBC.
