Position Overview

TCDM seeks a faculty member in Oral Medicine to provide innovative teaching, interprofessional patient care, and scholarly activity. The role emphasizes case-based instruction, clinical consultation for medically complex patients, and collaboration across health professions.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Instruction

  • Deliver integrative, case-based instruction to predoctoral dental students and other learners.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in oral pathology and other disciplines to ensure clinically relevant education.

Clinical Consultation & Patient Care

  • Provide consultation services in the student clinic in collaboration with Oral Pathology faculty.

  • Develop and implement protocols aligned with ADA recommendations for medically complex patients.

  • Provide direct patient care across the full scope of oral medicine practice.

Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Engagement

  • Collaborate across Oral Health Science and Oral Health Practice divisions.

  • Partner with other health profession programs to strengthen interprofessional education.

Service & Scholarship

  • Engage in service, scholarly activity, and professional expertise to advance TCDM’s mission.

  • Participate in institutional initiatives and academic service.


Requirements

  • DMD or DDS from a CODA-accredited institution or equivalent.

  • Graduate of a CODA-accredited Oral Medicine residency program.

  • License to practice dentistry in Kentucky or faculty limited licensure.

  • Board certification or board-eligible in Oral Medicine preferred.

  • Previous experience supervising predoctoral dental students preferred.
