Position Overview:
BridgeValley Community & Technical College is seeking a skilled and adaptable Substitute Dentist to join our dental practice on a part-time, as-needed basis. This role provides high-quality dental care during day shifts of 6–8 hours, with no nights or weekends. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, a current dental license, and the ability to mentor dental hygiene students while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and guide dental hygiene students during clinical procedures to ensure compliance with best practices.

Mentor and instruct students, providing feedback to support clinical skills development.

Monitor student performance and patient outcomes to maintain quality standards.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to foster a supportive learning environment.

Stay current with dental practice advancements and integrate new techniques into clinic protocols.

Read, interpret, and assist students with radiographs, landmark identification, and pathology.

Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, provide pathology consults, and make referrals as needed.

Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-organized clinical environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.

Current state dental license in good standing.

Strong clinical skills and knowledge of contemporary dental practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor students.
