Job Summary

The Flight Scheduling Manager is a vital member of the EKU School of Aviation, responsible for coordinating and managing over 5,000 monthly reservations and flight events for 400+ students and instructors. This role ensures compliance with FAA Part 61/141 regulations, optimizes scheduling efficiency, and supports world-class aviation training. The manager serves as a key liaison among students, instructors, FAA examiners, airport staff, and university leadership.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience:

    • Strong organizational skills for high-volume scheduling

    • In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 61/141 regulations

    • Advanced problem-solving and process improvement abilities

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Proficiency in aviation management systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite


Key Job Duties

  • 60% Flight Operations Scheduling & Coordination
    Manage 5,000+ monthly reservations, including aircraft, instructors, and simulators. Assign CFIs, monitor live operations, adjust for weather/maintenance, schedule stage checks, and coordinate FAA checkrides.

  • 20% Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
    Track instructor/student compliance, verify medical certifications, maintain records, and monitor financial accounts.

  • 10% Stakeholder Engagement & Airport Coordination
    Act as liaison with Central Kentucky Regional Airport to ensure aircraft availability and operational support.

  • 5% Process Optimization & Policy Development
    Analyze performance metrics, streamline scheduling processes, and collaborate with maintenance for aircraft readiness.

  • 5% Other Duties as assigned.
