Position Summary
Start Date: January 2026
Chandler-Gilbert Community College seeks a Residential Faculty in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to join the Aviation Division.
The faculty member will:

Teach UAS courses across multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid).
-
Develop curriculum, course materials, and assessments.
-
Provide leadership to adjunct and dual enrollment faculty.
-
Engage in college committees, program review, and advisory councils.
-
Incorporate active learning and instructional technologies.
-
Remain current in aviation and UAS trends and FAA regulations.
Essential Functions
-
Teach diverse student populations (including high school bridge, accelerated, and hybrid programs).
-
Develop syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
-
Maintain office hours for advising, tutoring, and student support.
-
Collaborate with high schools, universities, and industry partners to build transfer and internship pathways.
-
Supervise adjunct/dual enrollment faculty.
-
Participate in professional development, research, workshops, and conferences.
-
Contribute to college committees and the academic community.
Minimum Qualifications
Faculty may qualify through any of the following:
-
5 years of occupational experience in the teaching field OR
-
3 years of occupational experience + Bachelor’s degree or higher OR
-
Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field OR
-
Master’s degree in any field + 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR
-
Master’s degree in any field + 24 upper-division/graduate credits in the teaching field
Desired Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Aviation, or Engineering (preferred).

Current FAA Part 107 sUAS Remote Pilot Certificate.
-
Professional industry experience in UAS.
-
At least 1 year of recent teaching experience in sUAS or flight at the community college level.

Experience with active/experiential learning methods across different teaching modalities.
-
Curriculum development, program review, and assessment experience.
