Job Summary

The CFII and/or MEI Flight Instructor will provide:

  • Flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with FAA Part 61 & Part 141 regulations, FAA Airmen’s Information Manual, advisory circulars, airport operations, and EKU policies.

  • Student scheduling, training record maintenance, and oversight to ensure course standards and objectives are met for:

    • Private Pilot

    • Instrument Rating

    • Commercial Pilot

    • Multiengine Training (MEI only)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Flight Time: 300+ total hours.

  • Certificates Required:

    • FAA Flight Instructor Certificate – Airplane Single Engine; Instrument Airplane (CFII).

    • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single Engine Land.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.

  • Certificates (Preferred):

    • FAA Flight Instructor Certificate – Airplane Multiengine (MEI).

    • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Multiengine Land.

  • Aircraft Proficiency:

    • Cessna 172 or similar high-wing, fixed tricycle-gear trainer.

    • Piper Seminole or other twin-engine trainer (MEI only).
