Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to support the growth of the Aerospace Engineering Program.

Faculty duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students, conducting research, securing external funding, and participating in university and professional service.

With a $36 million Gillemot Foundation donation, UNR is expanding aerospace programs and facilities, including BS, MS, and PhD degrees.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field.

  • Record of research and teaching excellence.

  • Ability to contribute to existing departmental strengths.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in:

  • Space systems and exploration

  • Launch and space transportation

  • Satellites and spacecraft systems

  • Orbital mechanics and space environment

  • Planetary and deep space exploration

  • Space manufacturing
