The Opportunity
The Assistant Professor & GAI Central Florida Regional Director (Hybrid Faculty) position at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) offers a dynamic opportunity to lead, educate, and inspire within the nationās most prestigious aerospace education network. The selected candidate will oversee middle school, high school, and dual enrollment aerospace programs across Central Florida counties, providing administrative leadership and academic excellence through the Aerospace Career Academy (ACA).
The Regional Director serves as a critical link between schools, instructors, and district administratorsāensuring the success of all ACA aerospace programs. Responsibilities include managing enrollment, coordinating course offerings, supporting instructors, resolving scheduling or credentialing issues, and ensuring alignment with DOE and CTE requirements. The Director will also oversee event planning, competitions, and community outreach, fostering engagement between academia and industry partners to expand aerospace learning opportunities.
This hybrid faculty role combines program leadership with academic instruction, offering direct involvement in aerospace education delivery. The position requires adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in both teaching and program administration.
Primary Responsibilities

Lead and manage ACA programs across assigned Florida regions.

Support teachers and students through academic advising, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.

Ensure compliance with state, federal, and DOE regulations, including drone usage and export control considerations.

Organize and execute aerospace competitions, events, and workshops.

Cultivate partnerships with industry, schools, and local agencies to strengthen program outcomes.

Recruit new schools and districts into ACA programs.

Visit classrooms regularly and provide specialized instruction in aerospace concepts.

Participate in community and promotional events such as science nights, career fairs, and field trips.

Continuously assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements to align with aerospace industry trends.
Qualifications
Required Education:

Masterās degree in Education, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
FAA Pilot, Advanced Ground Instructor, or Maintenance certification.

Experience in Kā12 STEM or aerospace curriculum development.

Demonstrated leadership in educational program coordination or faculty management.
