The current full-time salary range for Lecturer positions is $75,301 – $199,722.
Starting salary is commensurate with highest degree, teaching experience, and equity within the department.

Percent Time: 17% to 50%
Anticipated Start Date: January 1, 2026

Position Description

The College of Engineering recently launched a comprehensive aerospace engineering program, anchored by a new undergraduate major (currently hosted in the Department of Mechanical Engineering). The program aims to address the growing significance of aerospace and space technologies.

The Aerospace Engineering program seeks a part-time lecturer to teach AERO ENG 120: Introduction to Space Engineering during the Spring 2026 semester.

Course Objectives:
This course introduces engineering students to:

  • The space environment and its unique challenges.

  • Spacecraft and instrumentation design considerations.

  • Engineering analysis tools used to overcome design and environmental constraints.

Instructor Duties:

  • Deliver engaging in-person lectures and manage course materials.

  • Mentor graders and/or graduate student instructors (TAs).

  • Hold office hours and advise students.

  • Prepare the syllabus and maintain the course website.

  • Assign and evaluate grades.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent international degree at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in space technologies through engineering or science degrees.

  • Professional experience in the Aerospace or Space Engineering industries.

  • Evidence of prior university-level teaching or mentorship.

  • Strong commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching practices.
