Position Summary
The BioResource & Agricultural Engineering Department at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers for the 2025â26 academic year.
Teaching needs vary by term, and appointments are temporary and often made just before the start of the academic term. Applicants must therefore be available on short notice.

Appointment and Salary
Initial rank and salary are determined by professional experience and educational background. Most new lecturers are appointed at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Required Qualifications
-
Bachelorâs degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanized Agriculture, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.

Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings.

Proficiency in written and oral English communication.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Masterâs degree in a related field.

Industrial experience in engineering or agricultural technology.
-
Experience working with diverse student populations and fostering inclusive classroom environments.

Proven ability to bring professional capabilities and practical insights into teaching.
Special Conditions

This position is classified as a âmandated reporterâ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
